The MAC-LTspice has a spartan interface. It doesn't have a tool bar. One have to use the function keys, special key combinations and the menus shown by a right mouse-click on a component or on an empty area of the schematic. For example, you may want to reprogram the Undo, Redo and Duplicate (Copy) commands to a more traditional key combination. To remove a shortcut, select the command and press Delete. Additional Hot Keys are also available for the Waveform Viewer, Symbol Editor and Netlist Editor. For a complete reference table of Hot Keys, DOT commands and more you can download the LTspice Flyer at.

#116608 Hello to all. I have a problem: I installed the LTspice XVII, the mac version in macOS 10.14 Mojave. I tried to install new components on the 'sym' directory and seems to be OK (with LTspice closed); but I open LTspice and I try to add a component that I installed, but does not appear on the list of components. How can I do to install properly new components in LTspice for Mac? Thank you in advance. Best regards. Fernando. |
#116616 Fernando, Helmut sometimes replies about Mac LTspice problems. I'm not using a Mac. What file did you put in the 'sym' directory? Was it a '.asy' file? That is the only kind of file that should be there. Did you add it in the 'sym' directory itself, or to a subdirectory? In the MS-Windows version of LTspice XVII, there are two copies of what appears to be LTspice's library. One of them is used by LTspice, while the other is kept as a fresh copy but not actually used, so anything added to that one would not appear in the list of components. I can't answer about the Mac version -- but I'm wondering if the Mac version does the same thing, with two copies that are in different places. If it does, then you might have added your symbol file to the wrong place. Regards, Andy |
#116617 Edited Hello Fernando, I have written some tips in a text file. https://groups.io/g/LTspice/files/z_yahoo/MAC/Special%20hints%20for%20MAC-LTspice.txt https://groups.io/g/LTspice/files/z_yahoo/MAC I found standard.bjt on two places on the hard disk. 1. You can modify this file when you want append BJT-models. '/Users/helmut/Library/Application Support/LTspice/Lib/cmp/standard.bjt' The same applies to the other model files named standard.xxx. 2. Don't change the file below or any other standard.xxx file in this folder. /Applications/LTspice.app/Contents/lib/cmp/standard.bjt It's not used when running LTspice. Helmut |

May 04, 2020 In the Mac OS version of LTspice for MAC I cannot find draft the LT6370 component (not listed). There is an LT6370.asy entry in the sym folder, however, if I am trying to open the 6370.asc jig it says 'Couldn't find symbol(s): LT6370'. The 4.1 version of LTspice for Mac is available as a free download on our website. The application is included in System Tools. The most popular version among LTspice for Mac users is 4.1.
